Q: When does the first season begin?
A: The first AGL season begins May 1, 2007 and represents the summer season.

Q: When is registration?
A: Below shows a listing of the 2007 schedule along with registration deadlines. There is not a Season 1 in 2007.

Season 2
• Registration: Registration will be announced soon. If you've submitted the "Interest Form" from this site, you will be notified by email. The registration deadline will be April 15th.
• Late Registration: April 16 - April 23
• League play: May 1 – July 14
• End of Season Tournament: Saturday, July 21

Season 3
• Registration: July 1 - July 13
• Late Registration: July 13 - July 20
• League play: August 1 - October 6
• End of Season Tournament: Saturday, October 13

*Late registration fee is $55.

Q:  What golf courses do I play?
A:  That is one of the great aspects of the Atlanta Golf League!  You and your opponent get to choose the course and the time for each match.

Q: What if my opponent and I can't agree on which course to play?
A: If opponents cannot agree on a course to play, the decision goes to the home course player.

Q: Can I walk or ride a cart during my match?
A: Yes

Q: What if I can't contact my opponent?
A: You will be given your opponents email and phone contact information. If you attempt to contact your opponent more than once on each of their listed points of contact and your two week time period elapses, you may default your opponent and you will receive 8 points and your opponent will receive 1 point. If you do not complete your match, neither opponent will receive a score towards their adjusted scoring average.

Q: What if we can't play the match within the two week time period?
A: Whichever player was available on more days during the two week time period will be the winner of the match. The winner of the match will receive 8 points and their opponent will receive 1 point. Neither opponent will receive a score towards their adjusted scoring average.

Q: What if my opponent and I can't agree on the amount of holes to play?
A: If there is a disagreement on the amount of holes to play, players must play a 9 hole match.

Q: What if I want to protest the scores submitted?
A: If you would like to protest a submitted score, email the Atlanta Golf League at info@atlantagolfleague.com . We will contact your opponent to verify the score protested and will resolve any issues and update the scoring entry.

Q: Who is responsible for scheduling a tee time?
A: The home player is responsible for scheduling the agreed upon tee time at the agreed upon golf course.

Q: How do I know who my opponent is at the golf course?
A: Ensure you bring your opponents contact information to the golf course. When you arrive at the golf course, check in with the pro shop and ask if your opponent has arrived.

Q: How do I verify that I'm an AGL member to receive my discounts?
A: Upon registering for the league, you will receive an AGL member card

Q: What set of golf rules does AGL abide by?
A: All AGL play will be governed by the USGA rules. You may find all updated USGA rules by visiting the USGA website, http://www.usga.org/playing/rules/rules.html . If you cannot find an applicable USGA rule, resolve all ruling discrepancies by consulting the local head pro.

Q: What is the cost of joining AGL?
A: The AGL membership fee is $45 per season. Players can choose to play 1, 2, or all 3 seasons per year. 5% of all proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Q: Which courses offer discounts to AGL members?

Q: Which retailers offer discounts to AGL members?

Q: If I have a complaint, whom do I contact?
A: Contact info@atlantagolfleague.com with questions or complaints.

Q: What is the maximum score a player can take on a hole?
A: The maximum score any player can take on one hole is a 9.

Q: What if my opponent no shows?
A: If your opponent does not show, choose no show from the scoring entry menu. You will receive 8 points for the match and your opponent will receive 1 point. Neither opponent will receive a score towards their adjusted scoring average.

Q: How do I gain entry into the season ending tournament?
A: If you finish at the top of your bracket by accumulating the most points, you will qualify for the end of season tournament. You can also qualify for the end of season tournament through quality play resulting in a low adjusted scoring average.

Q: How much does the end of season tournament cost?

A: There will be a small fee to compete in the end of season tournament (less than $50). The entry fee will cover your green fee, cart fee, range balls, cookout and awards ceremony.

Q: Where will the end of season tournament be played?
A: The AGL will schedule an end of season tournament at one of Metro Atlanta's top public golf courses. Players will be notified prior to the end of the regular season as to the location of the end of season tournaments.

Q: What happens if my match gets rained out?
A: If you have completed more than 9 holes but less than 18 holes, players must take their 9 hole score and enter scores as a 9 hole match. If less than 9 holes are completed, players can either reschedule or record an agreed upon tie. If a tie is recorded, neither player will receive a score towards their adjusted scoring average.

Q: What happens if my opponent and I do not finish our match due to darkness or to another inhibitor?
A: If you have completed more than 9 holes but less than 18 holes, players must take their 9 hole score and enter scores as a 9 hole match. If less than 9 holes are completed, players can either reschedule or record an agreed upon tie. If a tie is recorded, neither player will receive a score towards their adjusted scoring average.

Q: What happens to my member profile page if I take a season off?
A: Your member profile page will still be active even if you are not playing the current season. Your scoring averages and statistics will be tracked from season to season regardless of whether or not you play each season. You can view your historical scores and statistics at any point in time.

Q: How many seasons are there per year?
A: There are 3 seasons per year (Spring, Summer, Fall). The first season in 2007 begins with the Summer season on May 1.

Q: Is there going to be a kids division?
A: In the initial season the AGL will offer a men's and women's division only.

Q: How do I submit my digital picture for my member profile page?
A: You will have the opportunity to upload your picture when you register for the league. At anytime you can upload your picture by clicking on your member profile page.

Q: Can I join in mid season?
A: You may not register past the registration deadlines listed.

Q: What happens if I am out of town for several weeks in a row but want to get all of my matches in for the season?
A: You can schedule your matches at any point in time prior to the due date. If you know you will not be available for a match, you can attempt to schedule the match before the match start date.
